Hello, my name is Dequiana Brooks Jackson. I'm passionate about marketing now, but I didn't start out that way. In fact, I was in your shoes when I started my first company in 2003. Back then I was a web designer who loved transforming a client's business vision into something for the world wide web. Unfortunately, I didn't know the first thing about marketing. My "plan" was so bad that I didn't get a single client for SIX MONTHS! During those months of waiting, doubt crept in, and I wondered whether I should even be in business in the first place. Thankfully, after tapping into my network again, researching I scored my first clients and had a steady stream of them going forward.

Though my business was moving along, I knew there was more to learn about marketing. Rather than try and get the knowledge on my own, I went back to school and got an MBA in Marketing Strategy and Entrepreneur. I then took it a step further and worked in Brand Management for $1 billion brands at a top consumer packaged goods company. Now I have a thorough understanding of marketing (and a technology background), I want to pass on all that I've learned with you. For nearly a decade now, I've been teaching women entrepreneurs how to monetize their message so they can make more money from their expertise. That starts with having a solid foundation.
